post-op support
At Tylstin Body, we provide personalized post-operative support designed to help your body recover, heal, and feel its best after surgery. Our specialized treatments focus on reducing swelling and fluid retention, supporting circulation, improving comfort, and promoting a smoother recovery—while complementing your surgeon’s post-op care plan.
What is post-op support and why do I need it?
Post-op support is specialized care designed to support your body through the healing process following cosmetic or body-contouring surgery. At Tylstin Body, we incorporate Brazilian lymphatic drainage and other specialized techniques to help manage post-surgical swelling, fluid retention, tightness, and tissue changes.

As your body heals, areas of firmness, adhesions, fibrosis, and scar tissue can develop. With appropriate timing and technique, post-op treatments can help improve tissue mobility, soften areas of fibrosis, and support smoother-looking results as you heal.

Your treatments are always tailored to your procedure and stage of recovery, with techniques progressing as your body heals. Our goal is to complement your surgeon’s post-operative care plan and help you feel more comfortable while supporting the best possible recovery.

massage timeline
how often should I do massages?
Weeks 1–2 |
Protect & Decongest
Typical frequency: 2–4 sessions per week
The body is in its most acute stage of healing. Our focus is gentle support rather than aggressive manipulation.
Support may include:
-
Gentle Brazilian lymphatic drainage
-
Diaphragmatic breathing and lymphatic stimulation
-
Very light, non-invasive techniques to encourage fluid movement
-
Guidance on compression and positioning
-
Monitoring for changes that should be brought to your surgical team

Goal: Support lymphatic flow, manage swelling and fluid retention, and promote comfort while protecting healing tissues.
Weeks 9–12 |
Refine & Restore
Typical frequency: 1–2 sessions per week
As your tissues continue to remodel, treatment can become more focused on residual fibrosis, adhesions, scar tissue, and areas of persistent tightness.

Support may include:
-
Targeted lymphatic drainage
-
Fibrosis and tissue-mobility techniques
-
Scar tissue support
-
Focused massage for areas of restriction or firmness
-
Carefully selected modalities when appropriate

Goal: Improve tissue quality and mobility while supporting the body's natural healing process.
Weeks 3–4 |
Mobilize & Support
Typical frequency: 2–3 sessions per week
As initial healing progresses, treatments can gradually become more targeted, depending on your procedure and surgeon’s clearance.
Support may include:

-
Continued lymphatic drainage
-
Gentle post-op massage
-
Carefully introduced tissue-mobility techniques
-
Compression support
-
Appropriate movement and circulation strategies

Goal: Continue managing swelling while beginning to address areas of tightness and restricted tissue mobility.
Weeks 13–16 |
Refine Your Results
Typical frequency: 1 session per week or as needed

By this stage, much of the acute swelling has typically decreased, although deeper tissue remodeling can continue for several months.

Support may include:
-
Maintenance lymphatic drainage
-
Targeted fibrosis and scar-tissue work
-
Advanced tissue-mobility techniques
-
Customized treatment for remaining areas of firmness or unevenness
-
Transitioning into maintenance treatments

Goal: Support continued tissue remodeling and help you achieve a smoother, more refined result.
Weeks 5–8 |
Soften & Reshape
Typical frequency: 2–3 sessions per week
This is often when areas of firmness and tissue irregularity become more noticeable as swelling changes and scar tissue begins to mature.
Support may include:

-
Brazilian lymphatic drainage
-
More targeted post-op massage
-
Gentle fibrosis-focused techniques
-
Scar and tissue-mobility work once fully healed
-
Appropriate body-contouring support when cleared

Goal: Improve tissue mobility, soften areas of fibrosis, and support smoother, more even-looking results.

treatments that actually work

Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage
Venus MP2™ RF Skin Tightening
RF Microneedling
Best for: Post-surgical recovery, swelling, fluid retention, fibrosis, and tissue irregularities.

Our post-op support program combines Brazilian lymphatic drainage, specialized post-operative massage, and progressive tissue techniques to support your body throughout the healing process. Treatments are customized to your procedure and stage of recovery to help encourage lymphatic flow, manage swelling, improve tissue mobility, and support the development of smoother, more refined results.

As healing progresses, our techniques can be adapted to address fibrosis, adhesions, and developing scar tissue, helping soften areas of firmness and improve the mobility and feel of the surrounding tissue. Your treatment plan may also incorporate compression guidance, movement strategies, and other supportive modalities when appropriate.

Best for: Post-op fibrosis, tissue firmness, mild skin laxity, and areas requiring additional tissue support.

Venus MP2™ combines radiofrequency energy with targeted tissue manipulation to support circulation, improve tissue mobility, and address areas of firmness that can develop during the post-surgical healing process.

When appropriately timed in your recovery, RF can provide gentle thermal energy to the tissue while the massage component helps mobilize and manipulate areas of tight or fibrotic tissue. This combination can be incorporated into a personalized post-op plan to support softer, more mobile tissue and smoother-looking contours as your body continues to heal.

Treatment timing and intensity are adjusted based on your procedure, healing stage, and surgeon's recommendations.
Best for: Healed surgical scars, uneven scar texture, discoloration, and areas of thickened or tethered scar tissue.

RF Microneedling combines controlled microneedling with radiofrequency energy to create targeted micro-injuries within the skin while delivering thermal energy at a deeper level. This stimulates the skin's natural remodeling process and supports the production of new collagen and elastin.
For fully healed surgical scars, RF microneedling can help improve scar texture, firmness, thickness, and overall appearance, while supporting more even-looking, flexible tissue over time.

Treatment is introduced only once the incision and surrounding skin are sufficiently healed and with appropriate medical clearance. Your treatment plan is customized based on the age, location, and characteristics of your scar.
